Melissa Weiner takes her title of Mayor at Kidville Tivoli Village in Las Vegas seriously. Like any busy public official, Melissa can be found on any given day on the front-lines (= greeting families at the front desk), in important strategy sessions (= developing curriculum for new programs like KVU Grad), fulfilling public appearance requests (= stopping by the morning news to discuss holiday gift ideas for kids), and doing philanthropy work (= teaming with local organizations like The Pregnancy Foundation). In her down time – yes, somehow Melissa finds moments for herself outside of Kidville – Melissa loves seeing shows and concerts on the strip and exploring hiking areas like Red Rock canyon. According to Melissa, one of the most rewarding aspects of her role as owner/operator of Kidville Tivoli Village is the opportunity to make an impact in the lives of families in the community of Summerlin. “It is truly amazing that I am able to host wonderful events for fabulous local charities and help make a difference,” Melissa said.

I opened a Kidville location because…
I love everything that Kidville stands for. I feel very lucky to be able to provide a place for children to learn and grow. Located in the beautiful Tivoli Village center where parents can eat, shop, get a spa service, have coffee, or even attend a spin class at the David Barton gym, this Kidville location and facility is perfect for the busy, on-the-go parent!
My previous life before Kidville consisted of…
Fashion and beauty editing for Star Magazine and a variety of other national publications. It was a fun and exciting job but I never felt a real connection with the people or the work I was doing.
My favorite Kidville memory is…
The graduation party for our first full year of Kidville University. We played a slide show with photos from the year for parents and they were all in tears by the end! Seeing the parents’ reactions made me see for the first time just how much of an impact Kidville has in our community and in the lives of our members. In fact, so many families didn’t want their children’s KVU experience to come to an end that we were able to develop KVU Grad, a 4-hour per day pre-school alternative program for three and four-year-olds.
My favorite Kidville class is…
Run Wiggle Paint & Giggle! I love being in a class where the kids are first learning what a classroom setting is like and getting to used to transitions. As they get older it will of course get more intense as they move up in school, but it’s awesome to know that in all began in my class. Parents still contact me to tell me that their kids had such an amazing transition to full time school and they always believe Kidville is the reason why. Our programs really know how to prepare children for the next step.
Our members know best…
Here’s what one Kidville mom had to say about Melissa and the team at Kidville Tivoli Village:
“Good teachers are a rare breed. You and your staff exceeded my expectation of Kidville. Your staff is enthusiastic, fun, knowledgeable and caring. Abby always had such a great time. From the music time, story time and projects… we loved them all. We appreciate all the learning opportunities you provided Abby. Kidville has been such a great addition to Abby, in helping her learn, but also have fun. We wanted to express our “thanks” for the wonderful staff and facility you have. I would highly recommend Kidville!!!” – Lara F. (mom to Abby, age 15 months)
